When it comes to curb appeal, we were challenged with one big eyesore. They decided to put our energy meter reader right on the front of our home. We struggled with the decision on what to do to cover it up for years! After going back and forth, we finally decided that putting some type of landscaping throughout the existent garden bed would be the most cost-efficient way to hide the meter, while also providing curb appeal. If you are anything like me, you do not have a green thumb. If it’s not a hasta, I have zero luck! After doing some research on possible plant options, I realized how steep of a cost it could be to cover this large meter up. I decided to take a stroll through the good old garage.
We always have material lying around, and I had an idea of making a large welcome sign of some sort. While perusing, I found something even better. A good old large pallet. I instantly envisioned this pallet covered with planters and bright plants! Simple enough and cost efficient!
After giving the pallet a nice sand, I attached five latch hangers. I then filled the terra cotta pots with the chosen plants and topsoil as needed. The plants were then hung on the pallet using the latch hangers! This project took as little as 30 minutes, and added instant beautification to our front yard!
