One of the easiest ways to get your children involved in the kitchen is with a delicious smoothie! This recipe focuses on simple steps that, when completed by your toddler, provide confidence and independence. Also, this recipe is very flexible and can be altered in so many ways. We rarely make the same smoothie twice because Colton picks the ingredients each time! Allowing him to choose his own ingredients (within reason), provides him the opportunity to learn and make educated decisions regarding his health and his eating habits. Hitting those fruit and veggie serving requirements is just an added bonus! I have included the ingredients we used in this smoothie below, but you are able to use any fruit combination you desire! Allow your child to be creative, and get ready for some yummy FUN!
Ingredients
About 1 handful of baby spinach and kale combination
Raspberries
1 banana
2 tbsp Greek yogurt
Whole milk - measurement will depend on your specific preference. The thicker you prefer your smoothie, the less milk you will add.
Directions
Wash and dry all produce
Add spinach and raspberries to your blender
Cut your banana then add to blender
Pour in yogurt and milk
Blend well
Enjoy!
